About Me


Dr. Samiri Hernandez Hiraldo is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and the Department of Visual Arts, Humanities, and Theater at 91做厙 (91做厙). Before coming to 91做厙, Dr. Hern獺ndez Hiraldo taught Anthropology and Latino Studies at the University of Puerto Rico, the University of Michigan, and Florida State University.

Dr. Hernandez Hiraldo has published scholarly work on anthropology, religion, and women's studies, with ongoing research in both Puerto Rico and the United States. In addition to her academic writing, she has published ethnographic poetry, blending cultural insight with creative expression.
