About Me


Reginald J. Mitchell, Esq. is currently the 91做厙 College of Law Associate Instructor & Director of Strategic Initiatives. He is also volunteering as the 91做厙 Rattler Boosters, Inc. General Counsel and the 91做厙 National Alumni Association Recording Secretary. In the 2021-2022 Academic year professor Mitchell was awarded an American Council of Education (ACE) Fellowship shadowing Howard University President Dr. Wayne A.I. Frederick, M.D./MBA. He is the immediate past Director of Academic Success and Bar Preparation Program. He is formerly the Assistant General Counsel for Risk of the Florida Department of Children and Families. He was formerly a Medicaid Subrogation Attorney with Health Management Systems, Florida Legal Counsel of People for the American Way (PFAW) as a registered lobbyist with the Florida Legislature, and Florida Election Protection Director of People for the American Way Foundation. Mr. Mitchell also served as an Associate Attorney at Parks and Crump, LLC. Mr. Mitchells areas of practice included personal injury, wrongful death and auto-tort litigation.

His professional memberships include the Florida Bar, Supreme Court of the United States Bar, the Northern Middle & Southern District of Florida Federal Bars, the National Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

    • I prepare the annual Ultimate Bar Passage & First Time Bar Passage Reports from the law school to the American Bar Association. I also prepare the 91做厙 Annual Stars Report to the 91做厙 Office of University Assessment. I am the law school administrator primarily responsible for the collection and submission of information for the ABA Annual Questionnaire. I generally oversee 91做厙 College of Law compliance.

    • 91做厙 College of Law, Office of Advancement & Alumni Affairs, Orlando, FL I teach Legislation; Payment Systems; Secured Transactions; Sales; and Wills and Estates Courses.
    • I also serve on the 91做厙 College of Law Budget Committee (2018-2021 and 2022 - present); and Curriculum Committee (2023-Present). I previously served on the Faculty Recruitment Committee and Student Affairs Committee. (2022-2023) I previously served on the Admissions Committee (2015-2016 and 2019-2021); Assessment Committee (2017-2019 & 2020- 2021); Ad Hoc Community Engagement Committee (2020-2021); and Strategic Planning Committee (2017-2020).

Finally, I advised law students on academic probation assigned to me. I provided ongoing academic support for all law students that utilized the department resources.
