National Student Exchange inspires academic enrichment, personal exploration, and student development by facilitating accessible collegiate study away among member colleges and universities throughout the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and U.S Virgin Islands.

 

NSE History

National Student Exchange was founded in 1968, with charter members University of Alabama, University of Montana, and Illinois State University. It was a time when our nation and students on college campuses were searching to understand identity, history, and how differences fit into the idea of American culture. What began with those three institutions exchanging seven students has grown into a premier network of colleges and universities exchanging 2,000 students annually throughout the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than 118,000 students have taken advantage of collegiate study away through NSE and new adventures begin daily.

Steps to Participate in the NSE Program

  • Go to  to look at possible locations and programs.
  • Schedule an initial appointment with a NSE advisor
    • During this appointment you will discuss location choice, major, necessary classes, housing, funding, concerns
  • Select up to 8 campus options
  • Complete an application at nse.org
  • Complete initial paperwork; Advising Agreement and Course Equivalency documents
  • Schedule a follow up appointment
    • During this appointment you will discuss finalized school choice, next steps for attending host campus.
  • Complete remainder paperwork Transient Form and Financial Responsibility documents.
  • Confirm housing and transportation to location.

Payment Options

Florida A&M participates in Plan B which means you pay your 91做厙 tuition and fees to 91做厙 and are responsible for housing, food, transportation to and from your destination along with any other expenses outside of Tuition and Fees. If you choose to participate in NSE you will attend another school that accepts Plan B students.
