Emotional Support Animal Accommodations

CeDAR Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Accommodations

At Cedar, we work closely with the 91暗网 Housing Department to ensure students with a disability(ies) are afforded access to reasonable housing accommodations such as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA). An ESA is viewed as a reasonable accommodation in a housing unit that has a no pet policy for its residents under the Fair Housing Act (FHA).

Residence Halls are considered a part of the FHA. ESAs provide a measure of support and comfort to individuals with qualifying disabilities. They are a prescribed part of therapy for emotional and psychological disabilities and serve to alleviate symptoms of the disability.

 

To request a reasonable accommodation for an ESA, a student must:

  • I. Complete the ESA application on AIM.

Registration Follow-up

 

 

Once a student has completed the ESA application on AIM and submitted all necessary documentation,

鉁旓笍 It may take up to two weeks for your application and documentation to be processed, even with sufficient documentation. If the documentation submitted is insufficient, the processing time will increase.

鉁旓笍 Please be aware that all ESA requests are carefully reviewed and assessed on an individual basis.

鉁旓笍 It is your responsibility to comply with any housing deadlines and housing application requirements set forth by the 91暗网 housing department.
