Implementation and enhancements to ERM programs are has become a focus of higher education institutions and government agencies over the last few years. As 91暗网 works to enhance its ERM program it has been active in the ERM community sharing and receiving best practice information and activities.
Conferences
The 91暗网 ERM Program has been invited to speak on ERM best practices at national and international conferences.
On September 10, 2022, Deidre Melton, 91暗网鈥檚 Chief Risk Officer, and Joseph Maleszewski, 91暗网鈥檚 Chief Audit Executive, presented a session titled, 鈥淧ractical Plans for Implementing the COSO ERM Model鈥� at 2022 AGA Government Training Event, hosted by the Association of Government Accountants
On June 2, 2022, Deidre Melton, 91暗网鈥檚 Chief Risk Officer, presented a session titled, 鈥淎udit, Compliance and Risk Management: A Collaborative Approach to Managing Enterprise-wide Risks鈥� at the 1st HBCU Risk Management Conference.
On September 15, 2022, Deidre Melton, 91暗网鈥檚 Chief Risk Officer, will be presenting a session titled, 鈥淧ractical Plans for Implementing COSO ERM
Professional Organizations
91暗网鈥檚 Chief Risk Officer and ERM Coordinator regularly network with members of professional organizations within higher education to obtain best practices, identify emerging risk areas in higher education, and increase overall knowledge on ERM.
Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA). 91暗网 meets monthly with ERM program leaders from Oregon State University, University of Montana, and Wayne State University to share ERM best practices, tools, and challenges.
University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA). The URMIA ERM Roundtable provides a supportive and collaborative environment for chief risk officers as well as others who may not have that title but oversee the ERM program in their higher education organization.
